Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

On Tuesday August 25th a group of youth and staff from Mercy Home for Boys and Girls in Chicago participated in a day of brush clearing and burning near Dyer Lake, WI. Chris Kaplan of Tallgrass Restoration helped the youth understand the importance of removing invasive plants and to recognize native growth. The youth worked very hard and helped to clear invasive brush out on about 1/3 of an acre of land. They were treated to a lunch of Wisconsin bratwurst and cheese curds, for many it was their first taste of the Wisconsin delicacy! Mercy Home provides care for at-risk youth in the Chicagoland area and partnered with Tallgrass to give the kids a chance to work outside and have a positive impact on their environment. Many thanks to all who made the day a huge success!
